Dolly Parton, Michael Jackson, A Little Plastic Surgery Never Killed Anyone

Here's a fact that's not odd at all: people grow old. They wrinkle, sag, and then they die. Yet for some reason (and here comes the odd part), we think we can defeat death, stave it off if we live in denial and have doctors tug at our skin, chisel at our noses and blow up our breasts.

Plastic surgery is commonplace now. Just about every actor on primetime television has had their face altered, despite the fact that it makes everyone look more alien than anything.

Maybe it's money and fame we should call odd. Because the way it warps your brain, your perception of beauty, and what it means to be a human being is just twisted.

If Michael Jackson isn't an example, well then . . .

Comparing Dolly to Michael is a little extreme.. Dolly is a beautiful woman, she looks great..

IMO you have chosen a 'good' photo of Dolly's face and at the same time chosen a very bad photo of Michael Jackson's face. Choose a more 'normal' looking photo next time so that people can really compare properly.

IMO Dolly Parton looks just as messed up as Jacko, Cher, Sharon Osborne and loads of other stars for that matter.

I think cosmetic / plastic surgery is ridiculous unless it's for medical reasons, but I think too many people exagerate about the extent of Jacko's surgery. Next you'll be trying to convince people he deliberately turned himself white. Give me a break!

Dolly only looks bad when she needs her eyes done again. Otherwise, she is a very beautiful woman, even with looking very different than she did 20 years ago. Yes, her face has changed, but the beauty remains.

Plastic surgery is disgusting. It makes people look like aliens! Just look at Madonna. She hasn't gotten any plastic surgery but look at how she looks now at almost 50! I think that being healthy and having a little self confidence is a much better alternative than getting put to sleep and having doctors mutilate your face with knives. I don't see any problem with plastic surgery. If people want to do it, it's their preorgative. I also agree with the guy above who mentions the Jackson picture. That picture is everywhere whenever I see an article or news report on him. During the trial, he didn't look like this picture at all in my eyes. Why does anyone even CARE what other people are doing to themselves?

Why is the media not reporting about the skin condition of Michael jackson so that the public can make their own analysis of facts. There are many people who are living with that kind of skin problem. Perhaps shifting focus on the causes and prevention of such problems could assist in finding a long lasting solition for the world. I think the focus should be more on what MJ presents as evidenced by the lyrics of his music.

Well it is a stretch (perhaps a little pun intended) to say that all plastic surgeons would operate under such extreme circumstances. Entertainers are not the prototypical examples of the cosmetic surgery patients and a only a tiny minority of cosmetic surgery patients end up looking freakish. Most of those are reconstructive patients after trauma or large cancer operations.

i think people should get ova what michael jackson looks like. There are people that look much worse than him...and its his choice anyway..what gives us the right to judge him. He is probably a better person than any of us will ever be..and i agree that the media should be telling people that he has a skin disease. I am a big Michael Jackson fan and I do not agree that people should make fun of him he is a special celebrity blessed by God. A lot of people think he changed his skin color white on purpose but the fact is that he didn't, he has skin disease that changed his skin color. I don't care if he did plastic surgery to change his face it's his decision not ours and we should respect him. He might look different but he is still the same Michael Jackson. People should start opening their eyes, Michael Jackson never molested those kids he was framed so that the parents of those kids can take money from. WHAT???? If you think Madonna never had plastic surgery, you are living in denial. When these "people" are out of the spotlight for a couple of months, that is when they get it. Rehab Center = facelift, extended vacation = botox, moving to the country side of England = breast augmentation.
