Shit in a Shoebox
Here's a new adage for the New New York City: you can sell anything in a fancy package.
The ultimate exemplar of this frightening credo would have to be 25-year-old Justin Gignac's artistic endeavor. He sells garbage.
Strange that not too long ago, his packaged garbage was selling for a mere $10 a pop, but now his site will ship you (charges included) a numbered box, signed by Gignac himself, for the bargain price of $50!
Rather than rail against Gignac, which would be both warranted and worthwhile, The Inquirer instead wants to open up the comments below to a reader survey. (Who in their right mind is buying this crap? Never mind, we don't want to know.)
