News Break: 1+1+1+Chelsea = Google

111eighth Google, Google, wherefore art thou, Google? Though the cryptic company has been keeping their New York plans under wraps, word has begun to circulate about the new 311,000 square foot offices in Chelsea that opened this week.

Google's already got offices in Times Square; they're a third of the size of the new Chelsea locale at 111 Eighth Avenue (shown at right) which once housed the Port Authority headquarters. According to a Village Voice report, the building sits atop "one of the main fiber optic arteries in the city, the Hudson Street Ninth Avenue 'fiber highway.'"

Simply put, the offices will be easily wired into the web. And you thought Google just wanted to be hip.
