A Ham Shame

Clooney's Pig Goes To Hog Heaven

91668326_0bc90a0fbf_o_1 Now that George Clooney’s longest committed relationship came to a heartbreaking end with the death of his beloved pot-bellied pig Max, will he finally be able to settle down with an actual woman?

Clooney’s publicist, Stan Rosenfield is quoted as saying the pig died “peacefully, at home…Max, like any pet, became a member of the family."

Reportedly, Max died of natural causes and was 19, old in pig years (especially considering the fact that Americans prefer their pig on a plate). Clooney, who is 45, had him for 18, which is longer then most marriages these days.

Clooney has joked that his relationship with Max has been his longest, and talked about his hog in multiple interviews and features, referring to him as affectionately as many leading men have referred to their wives (I’m just saying).

61391385_6f5b22d61c_b_1 I’m curious if Clooney abstained from eating bacon or ham sandwiches for the past 18 years? I haven’t been able to ascertain this info as of yet.

Women everywhere (read: me) blame George’s inability to commit on his loyalty to Max. It is a sad turn of events for sure, but maybe now Mr. Clooney will be able to meet that one special woman who won’t be secretly weirded out that her man has a pig for a pet, even if he is the sexiest man alive.

R.I.P. Max. And George, if you need a shoulder to cry on… --ELIZABETH KEENAN
